The Haunted & The Nostalgic: A Literary Horror Seminar

Why do familiar places, forgotten objects, and half-remembered stories linger long after we've left them behind? In this generative 6-week virtual seminar, we'll explore how contemporary writers create haunting through absence, memory, and longing.

Drawing on the work of Carmen Maria Machado, Angela Carter, Helen Oyeyemi, folklore, and theory, we'll translate these ideas into practical craft through close reading, discussion, and a series of interconnected writing exercises that culminate in either a new story or a deeper understanding of an existing project.
